Jia-Yi He

Jia-Yi He, a world-class harmonica virtuoso, has received numerous awards in international festivals and competitions in England, Germany, Israel, Japan and the U.S. He served on judging committees, performed, and presented master classes in the Asia-Pacific Harmonica Competition in Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Hangzhou and Singapore. He soloed with the China National Symphony Orchestra, China National Ballet Symphonic Orchestra and the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra and numerous others.

Jia-Yi has appeared at many television stations including China National CCTV and ABC, NBC, News 12 Long Island, Queens Public Television, and Sino Television and others in the United States. Jia-Yi has recorded harmonica music for a number of movies, radio stations and CDs. Jia-Yi was invited to perform at 60th anniversary concert at the General Assembly Hall at the United Nations, and was chosen by the New York Mets to perform a pre-game show at Shea Stadium.

Mel Bay Publications, Inc has published his book Recital Pieces for Chromatic Harmonica. Jia-Yi performed a recital at Royal College of Music in London, and performed a harmonica concert with Calcutta Chamber Orchestra in India. Currently, Jia-Yi is a harmonica faculty member at the Turtle Bay Music School in New York City.
